How to use Telegram without a phone number?

Hi. I like the security and anonymity of Telegram messenger. But is it possible to use Telegram without a phone number? I think it should be, because phone number remove all benefits of encrypted protocols because it is very easy to assign phone number with person. So does Telegram need my phone number? Can I sign up for telegram without phone number? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mario. You can't sign up in Telegram without a phone number because you will need to get a verification code. Without this verification you will not be able to use Telegram messenger. So answer on your question: it is impossible to use telegram without a phone number. Just for your information: when you have activated account you will be able to change your phone number.
